The health insurance is through Independence Blue Cross (aka Keystone Health Plan East). There are 3 insurance options, the HMO Silver Proactive, HMO Gold Preferred, and the PPO Silver Secure.

• The HMO Silver Proactive: HMO Proactive Network
  • Requires you to choose a primary care doctor who you'll get referrals from.
  • All local Philadelphia Blue Cross hospitals (and most doctors) are in-network but divided into tiers.
  • Costs vary by provider tier, with Tier 2 & 3 being more expensive than Tier 1, especially for costly services like hospitalization and surgery.
  • Copays for most procedures except surgeries & hospitalizations (unless you stay with a Tier 1 provider).
  • HMO Proactive Tiers
• The HMO Gold Preferred: HMO / POS Network
  • Requires you to choose a primary care doctor who you'll get referrals from.
  • Does NOT have a tiered network
  • No deductible & fixed copay for most procedures.
• The PPO Silver Secure: PPO Network
  • National coverage with a large network.
  • No referrals needed for specialists.
  • Most services have only a copay, while some higher-cost procedures involve a deductible and copay.
  • Excellent value across the country. Required if NOT in the Philadelphia region.

*Our dental insurance is obtained via the Fellow Travelers Benefits Program. It is a program where multiple employers collaborate to boost purchasing power to obtain better benefits & rates. Your insurance card will have "Fellow Travelers" listed as the employer.

Our dental insurance is exceptional! It effectively eliminates network restrictions by reimbursing out-of-network visits at in-network copay and coinsurance rates in almost all cases. However, we encourage using in-network providers whenever possible, as higher in-network usage helps secure better renewal rates for the future.
