What is the Health Insurance?
The health insurance is through Independence Blue Cross and is a PPO Gold Plan which has a very large national network and will work anywhere with a "Blue Cross" or "Blue Shield" network. You also do not need referrals to see specialists.

How to Find an In-Network Doctor
IF you have adequate coverage elsewhere such as through a spouse or government, you can elect to waive the health insurance and receive additional wages instead! You will receive 65% of the amount that would have been paid towards your health insurance, in the form of additional wages (prorated for part-time staff, see personnel policies for details).

The USFWC will cover 100% of the premiums for you (non-smoker rate)! You will have to pay additional amounts to cover dependents. If you OPT OUT of coverage, you will receive 65% of the amount of the insurance (non-smoker rate) as wages in your paycheck.

The USFWC will cover your dental premiums in full for you AND dependents!
We participate in an aggregated Employer Vision Plan through Ameritas. You can choose between 2 networks / vision companies with Ameritas, Eyemed or VSP.
The insurance is run thru Ameritas, but you then choose one network to utilize, Eyemed or VSP. Generally, Eyemed has very slightly better benefits than VSP (better premium contact lens reimbursement and very slightly lower deductibles). VSP however does have more "boutique" ophthalmologists in network whereas Eyemed is the largest vision insurance company in the USA (with VSP being the 2nd largest). There are links to search each network below (the monthly premiums are the same for either option.
The Vision Insurance is a "no-brainer" if you use contacts / glasses consistently. If the premiums are less than your annual costs for vision care, this plan is worth enrolling into.
